Sézane Brings Parisian Flair to the Upper East Side with Posh L’Appartement Madison

The brand’s third New York store pairs fall fashion with books, art and vintage finds.

At 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, the doors to Sézane’s freshly opened New York City location were scheduled to unlock. Not three minutes later, it was already hosting its first shoppers of the day.

With L’Appartement Madison, the Parisian B Corp-certified brand has officially made its debut on the Upper East Side, marking its third location in New York, with stores in Nolita and Williamsburg.

Inside the glass-front shop, a light, leathery scent permeated the air, mingling with a hint of perfume and plush carpeting to create an environment that felt airy and fresh—nothing short of chic.

The new address is intended as more than just a physical shopping destination, according to Sézane.

“It brings together the artists, objects, and ideas that shape Sézane, creating a dialogue between Saint-Germain-des-Prés and the Upper East Side: two neighborhoods united by an enduring sense of style and culture,” the brand said in a press release.

After visiting, The Sectional can confirm that the intent to bring together art and fashion is clear. The space was designed in collaboration with Pierre Lacroix, a Saint-Germain-des-Prés-based interior design studio, with the idea of blending the style of a gallery and a Parisian home.

In addition to Sézane’s fall 2026 offerings, the shop boasts stacks of books, vintage furniture and work created by William Klein, a Franco-American photographer. Characterized by hardwood floors, thick rugs, a wall of carefully folded sweaters and a plush fitting room area, the store is simply beautiful.

It’s worth a visit even just to take in the space and the gorgeous, versatile clothing that fills its racks, though it’s hard not to shop. We couldn’t help but indulge in a small purchase ourselves during our first visit, though plenty of items jumped out to add to our wishlist.

L’Appartement Madison is open daily, Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. We’ll certainly be back to shop through the seasons.
