Sézane Just Unveiled Its Fall Collection, and a New Era Alongside It

A new logo, a new campaign, and a founder asking whether her own brand would still excite her as an outsider.

If you’ve followed Sézane at all, you probably already know the founder story: Morgane Sézalory started out reselling vintage pieces on eBay long before she had any intention of building a brand, and it grew from there almost by accident. “I just wanted…a job that made sense for me,” she told Vogue. Thirteen years later, that little side project is a global, profitable business, and Sézalory just gave her French it-girl brand a refresh, timed perfectly for fall.

A New Look for a New Season

The update centers on a new logo and campaign imagery, fronted by model Imaan Hammam for the brand’s debut autumn collection under this new direction. But this isn’t just a rebrand for the sake of a rebrand. Sézalory told Vogue Business the decision came out of a period of stepping back and asking herself something honest: would she still be excited about this brand if she weren’t the one who built it?

What’s in the Collection

Expect bigger, more sculptural shoulders and dramatic collars on the jackets and coats this season, done up in richer, more textured fabrics than what you’d usually associate with Sézane. There’s also a new slouchy tote that feels like it’s gunning to be the brand’s next everyone-has-one-bag, the way the basket bag became a few years back.

A Nod Back to Where It All Started

There’s a sentimental layer too. To honor Sézane’s vintage roots, the brand is rebranding Les Composantes as a rotating drop of one-off vintage finds, hand-picked by Sézalory or whomever she brings on as a guest curator, launching in September. A tenth of whatever that line brings in gets donated every month to Demain, the label’s giving-back initiative.

It’s a rare kind of brand news, a founder choosing to slow down and reconsider rather than simply scale, and it shows in a collection that reads more personal than promotional.
